IT’S FINALLY OVER.

What a relief!!!!!!

I don’t know what to say…

I’m kinda drained now!

I just remember everything happened so quickly today that I had no time to take a breather…

The ultimate drama was, few minutes after the interval, before performing (and already seated on stage)… My partner and I discovered that we didn’t have the score for one of the pieces…

Partner: So how many pieces are we  left to play?

Me: Hmmm… 1… 2… 3… ****… “WILD ROSES”!!! *Furiously flipped file* I DIDN’T BRING IT UP!

You should see how I freaked out.

Thankfully Elgin ran down with me to help take it…

That was traumatizing man.

And thankfully my partner asked!!!!

Otherwise both of us would stone there throughout the piece and OMG I can’t imagine.

 

There was another incident which happened at home before I left for VCH…

Very thankful that it happened at home… Otherwise it’d add on to my trauma…

When I saw her walking out to the stage to perform, I nearly teared. So happy and proud of her that her dream was realised tonight!

I am really thankful for all my friends who came!! Thanks~ They made it all worth it… :) So touched… :)

Though I felt really bad for the bad seats they had… I was away in Indonesia 2 weeks when the booking of seats was done… So I guess the better seats were grabbed!

And they ended up not being able to see me from where they were sitting… I wish I could see them too so I could make funny faces at them! =P

 

My mind is kinda dead now, I realised I am still surviving on the Subway breakfast I had at 10+am…

So I shall talk more about the concert when I’m more sober!

 

And now I gotta psyche up myself for piano exam tmr… Though I so wish it isn’t tmr… And so wish I could hang out a little longer after concert to mull over it with the rest!

Ok stop grumbling.

Happy that lectures tmr are postponed! So NO SCHOOL! Glad that I won’t have to miss any for my exam. :)

And so I woke up and went for a Subway breakfast @ JP while people watching.

It's been SO LONG since I sat down for a proper breakfast on a Sunday morning. :)

1 more day won't change much right...

I’m so glad there’ll be no more of 6.30pm-10pm kinda rehearsal… At least for a period of time…

Will be having a little performance @ the Children’s Church next weekend though… But that’s fine hehe.

Can’t wait for concert tomorrow! An end to it all! Muaha…

Quite a number of my friends are going too! So I’m quite excited about that :)

I’m also excited that Monday is coming!!!

PIANO EXAM!!!

I’ll officially be free from any form of serious music @ 12pm. :)

I had a NIGHTMARE last night…

Dreamt that

1)I woke up late for my piano exam

2) I couldn’t even play the simplest scale

3) I wore my casual go-jurong-point attire

and

4) THE EXAM PIANO WAS CRANKY, with keyboard so stiff and shallow…

 

OMG that is the worst case scenario possible…

Hope none of the above happens on Monday… :(

 

Had my last piano lesson this morning and I told my teacher about the nightmare… She said I was too stressed! Hahaha.

But I think it was because I talked bad about Christofori and Kawai pianos last night. =X

 

Sigh I so want/need to play the piano now… Or rather practise… But my bro is home and he would kick up a storm.

…

How I wish to stay alone… Or to have a silent piano… Or to shift my piano to my room, close my door and stay inside the whole day…

The last point is the most possible…

Should I…

I’m getting excited at the thought of it!

Lesson learnt today:

Never leave your alarm clock BESIDE your pillow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Muahaha.

I was supposed to wake up at 7.35am today, instead I woke up at 8.30am OMG and my tutorial started at 9am!!!

Amazingly, I reached school at 9.10am at the expense of $15.

Still, it was a feat!!! ;)

 

Only had ONE tutorial today… So school ended at 10am.

Stayed back to study!
Happy to have finished 2 lectures of Pharmacology hoho…

Piano lesson after that, teacher could tell I was bored with the pieces and that’s bad. Imagine playing the same 3 pieces 50 over times each?!

Went to school for Immunology lecture which caused my immune system to weaken a little… Words on the lecture notes were micro and lecturer used many jargons.

Felt NAUSEOUS and GIDDY. Indications of stress. Boo.

It’s MONDAY.

I started off the week tearing in the bus on my way to school. How great.

I didn’t have music with me so was kinda overwhelmed by other thoughts (which is easy to guess).

For once, I reached school 20 minutes early for my 8.30am Pharmacology lecture… So that was an achievement. :)

We learnt about ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE – a drug “in search of a disease”. It’s a special drug in which it’s not used for treatment of anything.

I was OK when I saw my friends hoho. So blessed to have them!

Freshly back from rehearsal…

Can’t stand it

Those stupid mistakes

I think I’m not doing the orchestra ANY good

1 more week

I need a miracle

 

I dunno… Sigh…

 

It’s not as glamourous as what people might think…

When you see the solitary nights I cried in my room, or how I would go to the toilet during rehearsals just to cry and release the tension inside…

The mountain of doubts I have

The constant battles of conflicting thoughts

The temptations to give up

(yaya please stop self-pitying)

 

Thankfully no one has warned me of those, otherwise I might be totally turned off even before learning.

But now there’s no turning back…

God will not bring me to a place and leave me there to DIE right!!!

ARGH my printer is CRANKY…

I’ve actually attempted to FIX it (after procrastinating for months) it got better but now the CYAN cartridge is out of ink and I don’t understand why I can’t print my lecture notes with just BLACK ink???!!!

Is it like that for all printers?!?!

Is this some sick business technique to get people to buy coloured ink?!

Maybe it’s time to get a BOYFRIEND so he can help me fix stuff!!!

I don’t mind doing those but the problem is, it’s seldom successful!!!

Muahaha.

Many times I wish that my piano fee is sponsored… That would take a hell lot of burden off my shoulders.

Been supporting my piano learning myself for 2 years and being the random person that I am, I calculated the amount I’ve spent thus far…

It came to an estimate of $5000…

I could have been 5K richer…???!!!

 

But yea it’s a good investment…
No regrets.
Although very heartbreaking. 

Wonder if I have enough for the next grade…………………………………

What an eventful day!!!

Went for morning prayer meeting again! And then breakfast with friends. :)

Went home for a nap, it was really hot and my mind shut down…

I knew I should wake up for piano lesson, but I just couldn’t!!! The heat literally immobilized me. Argh. Hate it.

Anyway I was late for piano. Bad student.

10 more days to my exam.
Can’t wait for it to be over cos I’m  getting sick of the pieces.

School started at 3pm today! And we learnt how to administer medicine, apply eyedrops, eye ointment and eardrops.

This semester is much more interesting than previous! :) Can’t wait to learn how to INJECT people muahaha.

i should really stop thinking everything is common-sensed. That kinda attitude is impeding my learning.

I still haven’t gotten that in me that SCHOOL HAS _____ STARTED.

Maybe I’m slow.

Some of my friends (or rather schoolmates) have started studying and stuff, and me on the other hand, haven’t even gotten over the holidays.

It’s like only the 3rd day? o.0

Ok la, I have read through my lecture notes again after lecture… But that’s not considered studying right? Boo.

Totally missed NDP this year!!!

Had orchestra rehearsal on Sunday night and missed the repeat telecast again on Monday!

Did I miss out much? :)

Had fun hanging out with my best friends though!!! :)

We were in the SAME Chinese Orchestra!!! OMG. She played those dong dong chiang instruments while I played the Cello hahaha.

I didn’t even know her then when she came and talked to me on MIRC. Seriously I was rather irritated by her cos she kept asking me to CHURCH!!!

We hadn’t even talked in school before!!!

LOL. She was darn persistent and in the end I WENT when the church moved to Jurong West from Paya Lebar. hahaha.

Since that day, I’ve never left church. :) Can’t imagine life without God!

Till now I still think it is a divine friendship!

This must have been the happiest day after I came back!

For once I woke up early at 11am and went for a prata breakfast @ Frontier Library. It was the healthiest prata I’ve ever eaten, the oil was minimal! Haha.

And then I went for cg meeting! It was great to be back with them after SO LONG… About a month?! Yea. We had so much fun playing Singapore-related games in conjunction with National Day!

Waha…

After that I sneaked to my favourite hangout place again to chill…

Ordered “Strawberry Smoothies” and felt literally chilled, while reading the papers.

I’m beginning to think that politics is men’s form of bitching and catfighting. Just maybe in a more dignified way…

Muaha.

Heard a nice voice singing @ the outdoor theatre, it sort of drew me over like Pied Piper. =P

Performed by one of Singapore’s old boy bands – The Quest.

The audience was fantastic, mainly people in their 60s. Though of age, they were so spontaneous and sang along with Vernon Cornelius! I love his voice~ OMG. *Melt*

It must have been a special night for them to be journeying back to their younger days. I guess they must have forgotten about life for a while  during that moment.

It was heartwarming to see ah mas and ah gongs cheering and going gaga. It brought tears to my eyes to be present there, absorbing the atmosphere and being part of this nostalgic event.

What touched me also was the band’s passion for music even after so many decades.

And I wonder, 40 years down the road, when we are in our 60s, what kinda songs will we still be singing to? What kinda memories will they bring back?

Had piano lesson earlier after 3 weeks of disappearance.

Glad I didn’t really screw up. Haha.

2 more lessons before my exam.

Turned down two so-called ‘dates’ tonight to spend time alone @ The Esplanade yet again.

After spending 14 days with 20 people, I’m glad to have time for myself this entire week.

It really isn’t bad being alone! I dunno why some people seem to be against that idea.

I was rather entertained tonight…

There was a group of choir boys singing Singapore songs, for eg “Home”, @ the concourse. Quite cute.

Then I made my way to the library…

There was a group of people singing… Some thing like a musical.

And then I read a little of “Jakarta Post” about how the suspect for Jakarta bombing had been caught, about the haze problem and how Jakarta roads are like “death-traps”.

Well, if you have been to Indonesia, you’d have seen how they drive. Road markings are rendered useless and you need a bold heart to cross the road! Just raise your hand and the cars will slow down for you.

Woo hoo. Road stopper.

You hear honks everywhere every time. Don’t be offended, it’s their way of creating an awareness of their presence, especially if there is a sharp turn.   

And like some Singaporeans, they use it to honk at girls too. HA.

I don’t even know how to describe how I feel.

 

Everything seems to be on the right track…

My cello and piano are improving… I’m in a healthy relationship with them…

Was satisfied with my performance on Sunday…

I got the module (Bahasa Indonesia) which I bid for...

 

Yet I feel messed up and unsettled. 

 

How much will my dreams cost me?

To what extent am I willing to sacrifice?

Are those selfish dreams?

Ultimately, what is important to me?

Who am I living for? Myself or God?

I suck at driving.

Just back from Orchestra rehearsal and I think I’m falling sick.

Been spending Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday with the orchestra… And this National Day will not be spared too.

I dunno… But I feel like crying now.

No doubt I love the orchestra and playing music, but I feel that I don’t even have time for myself. All I’m thinking EVERY DAY are school, concert and piano exam.

They are constantly on my mind, before I sleep and the moment I wake up.

And it’s supposedly my holiday.

Welcome to my life.

It was a wasted day, sleeping, eating and practising a little (almost negligible) piano.

That has been what I’ve wanted for a long time – to have a wasted day doing nothing. To be so bored, I wanna do something.

I should stop thinking I have a lot of time left to my concert and piano exam.

School’s coming up next Tuesday. I am quite dreading it due to these 2 modules – “Introduction to Microbiology” and “Pharmacology II”.

Honestly Science is not my cup of tea, and recently I took that in. One can never be good in everything and I shall try not to get upset with myself for screwing those modules.

Yes we should be excellent in everything we do, but excellence is subjective. A ‘pass’ might be my own excellence whereas an ‘A'+’ might be someone else’s excellence.

Why do I keep being in contact with SCIENCE then??? Initially I felt stupid for choosing Science instead of Arts as I’m stronger in that. However, as I look back, if I had not chosen to enter the Science stream in JC, I’d not be doing NURSING in NUS now.

I guess everything will work for the good of those who love Him!

Ya but I still dislike studying Science. It’s too definite. Since all the answers are already in the book, why bother to memorize, regurgitate and forget, due to never ever applying that knowledge?

Furthermore, everything is just a hypothesis. Right?

So if you can, try refuting me on that.

I don’t find it mentally stimulating at all. But I love reading up about scientific stuff though, just hate the learning system.

 

Well, for all I know, I might be having an attitude problem.

Woke up at about 1245pm? Haha and lunched alone @ JP again.

Bid for “Bahasa Indonesia” module as I wanna learn up this language so as to communicate better with the beautiful people in Indonesia.

Hopefully I’ll be able to go Medan again with Sofi this December! :)

It’s a country close to my heart. :)

We re-learnt our CPR techniques on Friday. It was a really good refresh. In the picture above you can see the instructor holding a little machine.

That machine shows the pressure we asserted on the chest and the amount of air we blow into the dummy’s mouth. It also records every action we take and can be printed out. I find it quite amusing that it can even indicate if any rib is broken in the process of thrusting the chest!

So we couldn’t bluff our way through. =P
Glad I passed it on the first attempt hoho. Hope I wouldn’t have to do it on anyone… :)

Chilled out at Esplanade library alone after CPR… Enjoyed every minute of it reading Jakarta Post and listening to some cello music.

And I made a new discovery!
Anyone can now borrow a maximum of 2 CDs even without membership! It’s really great news. :)

Refreshment after rehearsal~ =P

Had orchestra rehearsal earlier.
Initially I was a little disappointed by the attendance, there were barely 10 of us. Talk about commitment…

I felt bad because half of them were new and not from our church. Plus if the conductor even squeezes time out of his schedule, why can’t we? Of course with the exception of valid reasons.

(By the way, if you do not know, our conductor is a cellist from Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and he is conducting us out of his own freewill. He’s the best conductor I’ve come across. He also happens to be my cello teacher’s uncle. Hoho.)

There were only 5 string players. 3 violinists, 1 violist and 1 cellist. So I felt stretched to play well and not to rely on other cellists, which was good. :)

After a while into playing, I felt better :) and enjoyed the rehearsal dearly. It was a very homely and cosy feeling. :)
My happiest day after I came back to Singapore!!!

It’s great to be surrounded by people who share the same passion and to be making music together. :)

Celebrated my church’s 20th anniversary @ S.I.S today! Wow it was a BLAST! We packed the entire stadium!

I’m so proud of my church!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s the best!!!!! A place where dreams are realized and glory of God shines. A place where people are bold enough to do the extraordinary things, because we serve an extraordinary God!

I also had the honour and privilege to be performing in front of so many people! It was kinda thrilling. But since it was dark, it seemed pretty much like EXPO.

Due to the performance, I missed out on some other programmes too. :( So, you can share with me about them. Haha.

Anyway! Thanks to my CG guys for offering to help me carry all my barangs today!!!!!!! Though I didn’t say, I was touched! Sorry if I was impatient and agitated! It was due to the blazing heat and my tiredness.

Love you deep deep! HAHAHA.

Eww it’s so not me to say that… It’s a line I picked up from my Indo team. Lol.

Well, I think it’s very sweet of guys to offer their help even though I may not need it. :)

 

Argh.. Thought I could sleep at 9pm tonight but I just realised I haven’t settled my school admin stuff!!!

Gotta BID for modules tomorrow…

It couldn’t be him that I saw.

I hope I had recognized the wrong person…

The height, the style, the build, the hair, the skin colour… Were so similar.

He was wearing a Singapore Run shirt.
It reminded me of an Adidas Run he took part in… Where he put up a note which only both of us understood.

He was at a bus top, we had a brief eye contact as I walked towards it.

Brief because I immediately turned around, walked away and took a cab instead.

I felt stupid for a while.

If he was the one, he could have recognized me as I had my cello with me, the same one he used to carry for me.

But it really doesn’t matter now.

Been blasting Bach into my ears for the past 2 days, hoping he will get into my mind, heart and soul.

So wanna play well for Bach piano concerto during our concert, partly because Sofi is the pianist. She’s my inspiration and encourager.

It’s her dream come true and I wanna play my part well for her and for me and the entire strings.

She’s been working hard and has memorized the 3 movements even though she doesn’t need to.

Happy that I managed to sit my butt down to practise last night and this afternoon and happy with my progress.

Hopefully I can still improve further towards the concert day.

Talking about that, the orchestra and choir will be combining again, performing a piece by a local composer titled “Child of Destiny” later at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for our church’s 20th anniversary.

My cello is now @ SIS, cos the owner is too lazy to carry it home after rehearsal earlier. Hope it’s safe…

I’m feeling very neutral about the performance later… Though it’s my first time playing there and in front of so many people… It still seems quite far away. And I’m too sleepy to be excited or anything.
